Global Learning Journeys

Origin stories
TMC began from a simple observation: school trips across India were largely tourist exercises. Groups of students visited monuments, took photographs, and returned with memories but little structured learning.
The founders saw a persistent gap between what educational travel for schools could do and what it was actually doing. Trips were planned around logistics, not learning outcomes. Itineraries were filled with sightseeing rather than structured participation. The educational opportunity was consistently missed.
Traditional school trips felt insufficient because they were disconnected from curriculum, from any intentional learning framework, and from the students themselves. They experienced a destination but rarely learned from it.Experiential learning became central to TMC's founding philosophy because participation, when it is contextual and immersive, creates deeper retention, stronger curiosity, and more meaningful outcomes than instruction alone can achieve.

Educational Insight
Making the shift from tourism-focused trips to structured learning participation required a different kind of company, one that treats educational travel not as a logistical exercise but as a genuine pedagogical medium.

Traditional school trip companies in India prioritised sightseeing over structured participation. Students returned with photographs, not understanding. The educational opportunity remained largely untouched.
02
Travel disconnected from the curriculum reinforces nothing. The experience and the education lived in separate silos, one in the classroom and one on the road, rarely speaking to each other.
03
Seeing history in its place, science in its environment, and culture in its context creates the kind of retention that no classroom instruction alone can replicate. This is the foundation of curriculum-aligned educational travel.
04
Immersive learning environments, when structured for educational participation, generate engagement that deepens understanding, builds curiosity, and strengthens interdisciplinary thinking.

Yasin's journey began in the travel and tourism industry, where working across every vertical gave him both the groundwork and the perspective to innovate within it. The Modern Classroom was built on that conviction, with necessity, creativity, and genuine passion at its core. Yasin and his team curate experiential learning environments for students, with travel as the connecting thread across everything they do. The programs are designed to deliver real learning outcomes and an element of fun, because for Yasin, the two have always belonged together.
He believes the best learning happens when students encounter varied people, cultures, histories, societies, languages, and environments firsthand. His ongoing work is to build collaborations that blend travel and education into experiences that are innovative, meaningful, and accessible.
